The CANadian Pediatric Weight Management Registry (CANPWR) is the largest obesity research study in Canada, encompassing eight multidisciplinary clinical centres. To date, 414 of 472 CANPWR participants (88%) have presented with severe obesity, making this registry an exceptional platform for us to build upon.
The Canadian Obesity Network-Réseau Canadien en l’Obésité (CON-RCO) is a Canadian network of obesity researchers, health professionals and others with a professional interest in obesity who act as a catalyst for addressing obesity in Canada and as a platform to foster knowledge translation, capacity building and partnerships among stakeholders so that researchers, health professionals, policy makers, industry and other stakeholders may develop effective solutions to prevent and treat obesity.
The Healthy Active Living and Obesity Research Group (HALO) was established in 2007 in response to the escalating obesity crisis and the increasing complexity of related co-morbidities. HALO’s vision is to provide international leadership and research excellence as it relates to healthy active living and obesity in children and youth.
The Applied Research Group for Kids (TARGet Kids!) is a research study enrolling healthy children aged 0-5 years. The aim of the TARGet Kids! registry is to link early life exposures to health problems including obesity, micronutrient deficiencies, and developmental problems.
