Team ABC3 is very proud to have had many of our members attend and present their work at the 13th International Congress on Obesity (ICO2016) in Vancouver last week! Check out some of the highlights…
Sarah Carsley (a Team ABC3 Co-Investigator) presented her poster, The Prevelence of Severe Obesity and Cardiovascular Risk in Children 0 to 6 Years, which highlights results from one of our studies: Prevalence and health care utilization of severe obesity in children accessing primary health care in Ontario utilizing data from the TARGet Kids! Cohort. Sarah’s research/poster receives the distinction of being our first ‘official’ presentation of Team ABC3 data at an academic meeting! Other Team ABC3 members on this work include Drs. Laura Anderson, Patricia Parkin, Jonathon Maguire (Team ABC3 Co-Investigators), and Catherine Birken (Team ABC3 Project Leader).
Drs. Amy McPherson (Team ABC3 Co-Investigator), Geoff Ball, and Jill Hamilton (Team ABC3 Project Leaders) showed off their poster on how to talk with children and families about obesity and weight-related topics.
Dr. Catherine Birken (Team ABC3 Project Leader) with her poster, An Observational Study of Active School Transportation and Stroller Use in Kindergarten Children in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Patricia Parkin (Team ABC3 Co-Investigator) is another Team ABC3’er represented on this work.
Great work, team!
