One of the goals we hoped to achieve with the Team ABC3 blog was to highlight the research being led by our team members, research that is either directly or indirectly related to the academic and clinical activities our team leads in severe obesity. This week, we’re pleased to share details about Dr. Nicholas Holt’s (Team ABC3 project leader) research program at UAlberta.
Dr. Holt leads the Child and Adolescent Sport and Activity (CASA) Lab in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation at UAlberta, conducting applied research designed to improve the physical and mental well-being of children, adolescents, and their families, particularity in terms of sport and physical activity participation.
To put their research into action, and to connect with their community partners, the CASA Lab recently developed a pan-Canadian initiative – the Positive Youth Development SportNET (PYDSportNET) – designed to improve the experiences of youth in sport by sharing knowledge between researchers and the sport community.
Whether you’re a youth sport coach, parent, athlete, or researcher, following @PYDSportNET on Twitter will give you access to up-to-date and evidence-based resources that will help you enhance the youth sport experience!
